Make Your Own Wedding Layout - Two Better Than One

June is the month for weddings - yeah! Here's a quick scrapbook layout you can bless someone with when you don't have so much time on your hands and you have a wedding gift to give. Here's how to make this:

-I used an 8x8 sheet of the "Rustic Chic" Wing It paper collection. All I did was layer the picture to the cardstock that has "Two are better than one...a three-fold cord is not quickly broken" printed at the top of it.

-I added the braided ribbon to symbolize the "3-fold cord" which represents the husband, the wife and God at the center of the marriage relationship from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.

-I added the "two hearts" silver charm to the ribbon to represent the couple.

-I edged the paper with "Cognac Brown" pallete inkpad to give the page some depth.

-That's it. How quick and easy,huh?

Make Your Own Coaster Purse/Totes

How about these Coaster Purses/Totes? Here's a really cool way to use chipboard coasters - make a purse and fill it with matching photo boards or matching cards or whatever will bless you!


You are welcomed to make these for personal use but please do not submit as your own original work for magazine submissions or contests. I'm sure you can relate to that, huh?

You will need 5 of the 4"x4" coasters. Here's how to make them:

-Ink your brayer with Pastel Kaleidacolor rainbow (5 colors) inkpad and brayer in color to your coasters as your background.

-Stamp your favorite theme. I used "basic birds" and "abundance is" rubber stamp sets here.

-Color in your images with Prismacolor pencils.

-Use a cosmetic sponge to ink the edges of the coasters with Palette "cognac brown" inkpad.

-Take two of the coasters. Each one will be creased at 1/4" of its two sides. Sand lightly where needed. Drop down to the SLIDE SHOW for a better view of the 1/4" creases.

-Aligning and holding a "creased" & an "uncreased" coaster together, with a Cropodile I punched holes at each corner.

-Aligning and holding these two coasters together, set the eyelets at the corners.

-Cut a 14" piece (or whatever size you desire) of refrigeration vinyl tubing.

-With Cropodile, punch a hole on each side of tubing, about 1/4" from each end and insert "ball chainz" into the tubing.

-Punch a hole at center top where you will insert a large brad in thru the coaster and the vinyl handles. Again, go to the SLIDE SHOW for a better view of this.

-You will use the 5th coaster for the bottom of the purse. I used "Yes!Glue" to adhere it to the bottom and it worked wonderfully.

How Cute Are They??

Here's a picture of my two nieces. Aren't they just beautiful? I'm going to use this photo in a scrapbook layout for a special project I'm working on. I'll tell you about that later on. Just wanted to share this picture as it really blessed ME!!

"Be Brilliant" Girls

Make Your Own "Juanita" Tri-fold Card

One of my favorite birthday cards I received last month was from one of my dearest friends, Juanita. When I began to open up her card I thought, "gees, I wonder where she bought this?" But then I started to recognize the TAC patterned paper on her card. "Hey, wait a minute, she made this!" I was so blessed with it especially since she's a "newbie" at rubber stamping and I love receiving surprises! Here's her card:


I loved her 8-1/2x11 one-sheet idea with matching envelope so much that I made my version of hers to share with you all (yes, I asked her) AND I used it as my project for Rita's CSWM. The ladies all loved it Juanita! They thought it would be neat when you want to actually "write" a letter to someone. Or, use as a holiday card and include a family picture with it. Here's my card:








Here's how to do it:

-Take one sheet of 8-1/2x 11 white cardstock.
-Fold at 3-1/2" and at 7" on the long side (the 11"side of the paper.) Use a bone folder to make firm, crisp creases.
-Stamp your design on the first two "thirds" of the paper.
-Cut a 1x8-1/2" strip of paper and adhere to the bottom of the card. This area is where you will write your sentiments.
-Stamp a matching image at the corner of an #10 envelope to tie it all together.

Voila! There you have your very own "Juanita" trifold card!

I used TAC's Sands of Time paper and colored in the Oopsie Daisy stamps with prismacolor pencils. Used the Speckle stamp for the background splattering look. I use this stamp alot to give my cards more depth. Leave a message if you have any questions. Bless ya!

Make Your Own Marbelized Paper

I went to a rubber stamp convention this weekend (Oh, Hello Sue, Awna, Beth, Michelle! Did we have fun or what?) and I was reminded how much I use to enjoy making my own "marbelized" background paper. Since I hadn't made any in awhile, I wanted to share with you what I made today. I used this background paper to make this greeting card:





Here's how I made them:

-First, make your own applicator by velcro-ing (is there such a word?)a piece of white felt material to a rubber stamp wood mount (the ones we have left over AFTER we convert our mounted stamps to the quick & easy unmounted Creative Cling system)

-Using alcohol inks: dot 2-3 colors of alcohol ink on your applicator. Pat this on your White Glossy Cardstock, using up & down motions. Then dot 2-4 dots of gold from your
Krylon Leafing Pens on top of that. The gold leafing will begin to separate and you'll begin to see that "marbelized," veining look. Again, pat gently, up and down, sideways til you get the desired look.


-Using TAC Palette reinkers with regular alcohol.

Take your applicator and dab alcohol on it first, then dot 2-3 reinkers on top ofthis. Pat this on your glossy cardstock. Then add your dots of gold leafing and do same as above. It's that easy!! You can look at these pictures to help you out:

Make Your Own Button Embellishments

Last week I said I'd post on how I make my own buttons/embellishments. Above is a card with one of the buttons I made - click on it to see details. The picture below is where I got my "inspiration" ideas:

Here's how I made them:

- Cut a circle, square, flower or whatever button shape you want, using a paper punch or die cut machine, from chipboard or heavy cardstock. I used the Marvy circle punch and the Cuttlebug die cut machine for the square.

-If you want to cover them with patterned paper, glue the paper to the chipboard first & then cut. If you're doing just ONE at a time, cut the patterned paper along with the chipboard so everything matches up. I used "Sands of Time" & "Genevieve" patterned papers.

-I Adhered the patterned paper with Yes! Glue. This stik flat glue is specially designed for journals, bookbinding so it sticks really well but you could use your favorite adhesive.

-Or, you can stamp directly on the shaped chipboard, color in with Prismacolor pencils or Gelly Glaze pens.

-Punch two 1/8" hole at the center for the ribbon. Optional: crimp two eyelets to holes.

-Ink the edges with Palette dye inkpad using a cosmetic sponge.

-Thread ribbon, scrapper's floss, raffia etc. thru the holes.

-Optional: For a quick 3-d shiny look, cover the button surface using the CLEAR pen from "Gelly Glaze" Pen set. Or, stamp some embossing ink on the surface, sprinkle CLEAR embossing powder over it and then emboss. Crystal Lacquer works even better when you have time to let it dry!

See Me on "Take 3"

Well, not me but my scrapbook page! Click "Take 3" which is part of TAC's Creative Corner. Take 3 is where three designers use the same photo and TAC materials and then allowed to design a project their own way. I had lots of fun using the "Hip Hop" paper collection since I was able to use at least 3 sheets on my scrapbook page layout for "IZEK." On one of the sheets I cut out the frogs and used them as embellishments! The paper is very versatile. To make the frogs look more dimensional, I took the "CLEAR" pen from the Glaze Gelly Pen set and coated the frogs with it. Gave it a really neat look. I use the Clear Glaze pens ALOT for a quick 3-D look!! In fact, I'll be posting here soon on how to make your own embellishments out of chipboard. Come back & see me! thanks again.

"Terrific Touches" on TAC website!

My matching pen and post-it pad set was picked to be one of the 8 "Terrific Touches" on our TAC website! I was blessed! I really enjoyed making these - I'll have a tutorial on this soon. I used "Rustic Chic" paper and used the "Artsy Elements" TC2622 stamp set to stamp a flourish on the bottom right-hand side of the paper. Would love to hear from you if you have any questions. Medallion Cards

These medallions are from a retired set but you could use the current ones in our catalog - The Mini Medallions or the Grand Medallions to make these cards. Used Landscape Green Palette inkpad. Leave a comment if you have any questions on these.

"The Good Life" Samples

How do you like my new TV showcasing samples of how you can use February's rubber stamp Incentive Set - "The Good Life"? It's a fun thing. Just click on the TV screen to see a close up of a card image. I used Kaleidoscope Girlz, Catelynne and Sands of Time patterned papers. These papers ARE examples of "Paper Blessings!"

February Stamp & Scrap Class

Interested in learning how to make this mini tag book? We'll be making this in our February class along with a Mother's Day scrapbook page and card.
