"Willoughby" meets "Stamping With Water" Background

As I promised...I'd like to show you a sample of one of the new TAC paper collections...they are gorgeous and inexpensive... $6.95 a set! This one is "Willoughby" paper collectionV844. I used one of the backgrounds I made using my "Stamping with Water" tutorial posted below. I thought it went well with the designs on Willoughby. You can always click on pictures for a larger view. TIP: I made white dots with white pen. To make the white dots look less stark (on the scallop circle), I went over them with yellow glaze jelly pen. You can see this in the second picture. They matched my background paper a lot better too. I used the matching Willoughby ribbons B227 ($4.95)and the new "Celebration Time" T2939 stamp set which I also thought was a great match with the Willoughby paper. TIP: I tied Scrapper's Floss to the ribbon. To curl or make floss have tendrils, wind the Scrapper's Floss around paper piercer. Here are some pictures of the Willoughby paper collection to bless ya: Any questions, email me or visit my TAC online store to see more wonderful products! Thanks and have a wonderful evening!

Tutorial: Stamping with Water

Tutorial: Stamping with Water cont'd

Sorry for the posting duplication...computer problems. I apologize for my absence, have been a bit busy but now I am ready to come back and do what I enjoy best...teach and share my joy of stamping. Techniques...haven't done rubber stamping techniques in a while so I thought we'd do a simple technique. I call it "Stamping with Water" and it is so easy yet the results look like you've spent lotsa time on it. I've put a "Photo Show" together with many samples.

Supplies used: Water! Very inexpensive, huh? Take two scot towels and place them on a paper plate. Add water on top...this will be your "INKPAD".

Paper: Glossy paper

Kaleidacolor inkpads: Blue Breeze, Autumn Leaves, Berry Blaze.

Stamp sets: R2026 Deco Designs, R2702 Simply Divine, T2105 Inspirational Sayings, T908 Dance with your Spirit, T2691 Circle Sampler, T2803 Aged Ornaments. Sorry for some reason I can't get the links to these items tonite. Sorry. Go to my online store and you should be able to get them there.

After you view my tutorial, please try it and link here with YOUR artwork! Would love to see what you've done. So sit back and enjoy! If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks all for dropping by and visiting me!!

Tutorial: Quick "Resist" Background

"Juliette Florals" meet "Butterfly Swirls"! These two stamp sets go so well together that I made a card to show you. I used a "resist" technique for my background. Here's what I did:

Oops, here's what I did:
-I stamped the small flowers with Versamark watermark inkpad on white glossy cardstock. Notice I only stamped them on the bottom portion of the glossy cs.

-I ran a brayer over a Kaleidacolor rainbow inkpad to pick up the colors. For newbies, a Kaleidacolor inkpad has 5 colors in it...side by side. Click on the highlighted word to see sample of one. Here I used the blue breeze colors.

-I ran this brayer over the white glossy cardstock...going in all directions. Prepare to be amazed when you see the flowers "pop" out of nowhere! What is happening, newbies, is that the ink is resisting the Versamark. Re-ink brayer as needed and brayer some more color if needed. Voila! You have a very vibrant background!

- I stamped the butterfly, with the same Blue Breeze inkpad, as part of the background on the glossy cs.

- With black inkpad, I stamped an element from the Curls & Swirls stamp set to form a stem for my big flower.

-I then stamped a flower from the set on a flower shaped cardstock. I added a pearlized brad to center and attached pop dots to it to give it dimension. Added glitter glue to it too.

-On the top left corner I adhered a piece of embossed (swiss dot) white paper as an photo corner and attached some tiny white ribbons to it and added glitter glue.

-Lastly, I adhered this glossy cardstock to purple cardstock and then to white cardstock to complete the card.

That's it! It's easier than you think...why not try making one and showing us what you've done with this resist background technique. Would love to see YOUR work! Have fun...see you later!

Tutorial - Coaster Photo Key Chain

Click on picture for larger view so you can see the "vinyl trading card sleeve" a bit better on the right side on coaster.

This was one of the swaps I made for our TAC seminar last month and was asked how I made them. It's really easy & fun! I used 4x4" chipboard coasters and did as follows:

-Ink a brayer with Kaleidacolor "Bouquet" rainbow ink and brayer the color onto the coaster - both sides.

-Pick a verse from "Scriptures" stamp set and stamp it with black ink on the left hand side. (MY FAVORITE SET - I USE IT ALL THE TIME!)

-Stamp flowers here and there from the "PetalPack" stamp set and color in with Tombow markers.

-Ink the "Speckle" stamp with Palette Landscape inkpad and stamp here and there over design.

-Ink the edges of the coaster with pink inkpad.

-Now you will SEW a "trading card vinyl sleeve" on the right side of coaster. (These are the vinyl sleeves the kids get for their Pokemon or baseball cards.) Remember only sew 3 sides leaving the top open to slide your stuff in. You will be sewing green rick rack on left side of vinyl sleeve.

-Adhere the rhinestone to the center of the big flower ON TOP OF THE vinyl sleeve.

-Punch a hole on top left corner & add a key chain, ribbons etc. For the circle picture, I punched the picture from a 2" circle punch and then layered it onto a 2-1/2" scalloped circle punch.

This can be used to hold your special photos, your business card, gas card or retemories (bible verses you're memorizing.) Makes a quick, fun and inspirational gift. Enjoy!
